I am currently working as an outpatient dietitian at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, Virginia. I was born and raised in Roanoke, Texas, where I discovered my love of good food at an early age. Growing up in a very meal-oriented home with picky eaters, I learned the difficulties of preparing dishes that will both nourish and satisfy everyone. After graduation in May 2019, I passed the RD exam and plunged headfirst into the real world- ready to change lives!
I love to travel, bake, read and spend time with my amazing family. Some of my hobbies include hiking, embroidery, and calligraphy.
I believe there is no point in living unless you can make an impact on others, and their impact on you in return can be even greater. Food and nutrition are very close to my heart, but I recognize that people have different preferences, opinions, and resources. My passion is connecting people with the information they need to lead successful, healthy, happy lives; and I’m able to accomplish this by catering to each individual. What works for one person may be detrimental to the next- I can help people find their happy place and stick with it.
With the Internet at our fingertips, it’s easy to become confused or be misled by incorrect information that surfaces on websites and social media. My strategy involves interpreting evidence-based information to make it accessible for all.
